History and Upbringing: Andromeda was the eldest in her family. She was spoiled endlessly as a girl and that still shows today. As a child she was bold and conniving, often leading herself and her cousin Sirius into trouble. When she reached her Hogwarts years she began to openly disagree with her parents views on muggleborns and halfbloods. Her decision to date and marry Ted Tonks was both to spite her parents and because she loved him.
Current State of Mind: Being estranged from her family taught Andromeda that family is the most important thing you have. She spends as much time as she can with Teddy. And when she's not with him she's gardening. It's her way of keeping herself free of worry over him. She rarely leaves the comfort and safety of her home, preferring solitude over being with a bunch of people.
Role In the Plot: Since Teddy is in danger of being genetically modified, Andromeda would do whatever it takes to get the situation found out and stop genetic engineering. She'd probably even go as far to use old family connections to get it stopped.
